Hans Isern is responsible for sPower’s energy product sales and power marketing efforts. For the past 17 years he has led teams in power marketing, development, engineering and finance. This broad knowledge base allows him to create innovative strategies to optimize sPower’s development activities.
Hans has overseen over 80 utility-scale renewable projects through development, representing over 2,000 MW of new renewable generation brought online. He has negotiated and closed over 3,000 MW of renewable PPAs for approximately $7B in forward revenue and led teams to obtain 4 GW of grid capacity and permit over 15,000 acres. Before his current role, Hans was the Chief Operating Officer at Silverado Power, where he negotiated and executed $1.5 billion of power purchase and sale agreements with utilities and municipalities. Prior to this, Hans was Recurrent Energy’s lead IOU developer in California, the head of sales and trading at 3 Phases Renewables and a utility T&D engineer in PacifiCorp’s Asset Management group. He regularly helps shape state-level policies on renewables and has testified in front of PUCs and energy commissions in California, Utah, Wyoming and Colorado. Hans holds an MBA from UCLA Anderson and graduated with honors from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
