Peter Huntsman is Chairman, President and CEO of Huntsman Corporation. Huntsman is a global manufacturer and marketer of differentiated chemicals. Its operating companies manufacture products for a variety of global industries, including automotive, aviation, textiles, footwear, paints and coatings, construction, technology, agriculture, health care, detergent, personal care, and appliances. Huntsman today has more than 15,000 employees and contractors with 2017 revenues of approximately $8 billion.
After attending the University of Utah, Mr. Huntsman began his professional career in 1983 with Olympus Oil Corporation and in 1986, was named the company’s president. In 1987, he joined Huntsman Corporation and in 1994, was named President of Huntsman Petrochemicals. In 1996, Mr. Huntsman became President and Chief Operating Officer of Huntsman Corporation, and in July 2000, was named Huntsman’s CEO. In January 2018, Mr. Huntsman added Chairman of the Board to his responsibilities.
Mr. Huntsman is also Chairman of the Board for Venator, a leading chemical company that manufactures pigments and additives used across various industries including coatings, building materials and pharmaceuticals. Venator spun off from Huntsman Corporation as a NYSE company in August 2017. Venator employs over 4,500 associates globally with revenues in 2017 in excess of $2 billion.
Mr. Huntsman serves on various executive boards and councils including the Board of Overseers for the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania; the Memorial Hermann Health Systems Board of Directors; the Executive Committee of The American Chemistry Council; the Board of Directors for the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion; the Board of Directors for the Montgomery County Women’s Center; and is Chairman of the Board of Advisors for Interfaith of The Woodlands. He also helps to direct a number of domestic and international humanitarian projects funded by the Huntsman family and Huntsman companies. He is currently Chairman and CEO of the Huntsman Cancer Foundation and serves as CEO of the Huntsman Family Foundation.
He and his wife are the parents of eight children and have 15 grandchildren.
